Context & story
For the Pizza Hot restaurant in Brașov I wanted the wall to tell a warm story, right for long meals with friends or family.
I chose an old tree with a couple sitting on a bench beneath it — a quiet moment that contrasts nicely with the bustle of a restaurant.
Requirements & distinctive elements
- A warm, welcoming mood for the restaurant’s guests
- A palette of sepia, ochre and brown that matches the interior
- A narrative element that draws the eye
- Fits a wall with a corner and furniture around it
Intervention
The tree grows out of the corner of the wall and spreads its branches across the whole surface, with fine leaves painted in layers of grey-green.
A warm gradient sky and the silhouette of the couple add depth; the light seems to come from behind them, like at sunset.
