Hand-painted feature walls

A feature wall does not have to be panelling, stone or wallpaper. Painted by hand, it becomes the centrepiece of the room: an accent wall in the living room or bedroom, a corridor that tells a story, a bright stairwell or a façade you notice from the street. Every wall is designed for your space and you get a free mock-up before the offer.

01

Living-room feature walls, including the TV wall

The living room is where a painted wall is seen most. It can be the accent wall behind the sofa, the wall by the dining table or the TV wall, where the painting frames the television instead of leaving it alone on a blank background.

In the Cozy Summer project I painted a lemon branch in a living room, mixing paint and texture, for a young woman moving into her first home.

02

Bedroom feature walls

In a bedroom, the wall behind the bed is the natural place for a painting: calm tones, floral motifs, a landscape or organic shapes. The painting adapts to the furniture colours and the light in the room, so it fits without overwhelming the space.

03

Corridors, stairs and stairwells

Long corridors and stairwells are walls we pass every day and rarely look at. A pattern that runs along the whole wall, like “Ornamental hills” from the design library, or a line-art sketch on a tall wall, like “Sketched city”, gives them character.

For the stairwell of an apartment block, the decision is usually taken with the owners’ association; a mock-up on a photo of the wall helps the vote.

04

Exterior feature walls

Outdoors, a feature wall becomes the building’s signature: a façade, a courtyard wall, a fence or a terrace wall. On the façade of the diferit. club in Brașov I painted pop characters, with sunglasses made of real mirrors, as an outdoor photo spot.

05

Optical illusions and trompe l’oeil

A painting can “open up” a wall: a window onto a landscape, an archway, a garden or a detail that seems to stand out in relief. Trompe l’oeil works best in small or windowless spaces. If you would like an illusion like this, we decide on it together at the sketch stage.

Questions about feature walls

How is a painted wall different from wallpaper, panelling or decorative plaster?

Wallpaper, panelling and decorative plaster are standard patterns. A hand-painted wall is one of a kind: the design is drawn for the exact size of the wall, in your room’s colours, and it can tell a story, from a lemon branch to a whole universe, as in the Star Wars home office.

Which walls can be painted?

Almost any wall: living room, bedroom, corridor, office, stairwell, façade, courtyard wall or fence. Materials are chosen for the surface and the location, indoors or outdoors.

Can you paint the wall behind the TV?

Yes. The TV wall is one of the best walls for a painting because it is always the focus of the room. The composition is designed around the television so it becomes part of the decor.

How can I see what the wall will look like?

Send me a photo of the wall through the configurator or the contact form and you get a free mock-up of the painting on your wall before the offer.
